Self-driving robots have been shipped to China to navigate in hospital rooms to disinfect surrounding surfaces. Basically they are UV lamps on a cart which emit concentrated UV-C ultraviolet light. It kills bacteria, viruses and other harmful microbes by damaging their DNA and RNA. When damaged, they cannot grow and multiply.
